Common Signs Your Travertine Needs Professional Care
Travertine can develop wear, etching, staining, and open voids over time. The correct treatment depends on whether the problem is surface buildup, damage to the finish, deteriorating filler, or absorbed staining.
Dull or Uneven Finish
Foot traffic, abrasive soil, and everyday wear can leave travertine looking flat, scratched, or noticeably different in heavily used areas.
Etching & Surface Marks
Acidic spills and unsuitable cleaning products can chemically dull the stone. Etching changes the finish itself, so cleaning alone may not correct it.
Holes, Chips & Failed Fill
Travertine naturally contains voids. Previously filled areas can open over time, leaving holes or chips that may require professional repair.
Embedded Soil & Staining
Porous stone can collect soil or absorb spills, creating darkened areas and discoloration that routine mopping may not resolve.

★★★★★
"We gave Busy Bee the opportunity to clean our tile and grout throughout our house last week (April 2020) and couldn't have been more satisfied with the results.
We haven't cleaned the flooring, other than bi-weekly moping, for over 15 years.
When the job was done, the flooring looked brand new; no exaggeration. Can't believe we waited this long!
We had our travertine and bathroom/shower tile cleaned and sealed and the price was very reasonable; and the results made me have zero buyer's remorse for the investment.
Following such a good experience, we've already scheduled our carpets to be cleaned next month.
Based on both the friendly service and the quality results, we highly recommend Busy Bee for your tile/grout cleaning needs!"

★★★★★
"They did a great job cleaning my carpets, but I was most impressed with the travertine work that was completed. He was able to clean and polish my kitchen tiles and grout lines. He even was able to fix the grout lines that an inexperienced tile cleaner ruined. Everything looks brand new. Very impressed."

"I am writing this as a 5 star review, but really I want to give Bill a 10 STAR REVIEW!!!
Bill quickly came out and gave an estimate to clean my very dirty Travertine flooring. His pricing is very reasonable, but after I saw the results and how exceptional my flooring turned out, I really feel like he undercharged me!
My floors had not been cleaned professionally in 11 years, so Bill had quite the job in front of him. I have very porous, rough stone Travertine - it is not smooth Travertine. This flooring traps dirt and it becomes deeply embedded into the stone. Looking at the floors, you would never think they could come clean. Bill somehow managed to not only get the dirt out, but my floors look almost new again! He also filled holes in the flooring where the stone had chipped away - they look fabulous!
He is fast, professional, knows what he's doing and just an all around awesome guy!
I highly recommend Bill for his services. I will be recommending him to all of my family and friends, he has a customer for life!"
THANK YOU BILL!

OUR PROCESS
A Careful Process Built Around Your Stone
Travertine restoration is not a one-treatment-fits-all service. Bill evaluates the stone, its finish, and the type of damage before determining the appropriate process.
01
Inspect & Evaluate
Bill identifies the stone’s finish and examines worn areas, etching, stains, open holes, damaged filler, and previous treatments. The condition of the surface determines which services are appropriate.
02
Clean & Prepare
Loose abrasive soil is removed before the travertine is cleaned with stone-appropriate products and equipment. The surface is thoroughly rinsed or extracted to remove loosened soil and cleaning residue.
03
Repair & Refinish
When appropriate, open holes, chips, or failed filler are repaired. Honing or polishing may then be used to improve damaged or uneven areas and create the desired finish.
04
Protect & Review
Once the stone is properly prepared and sufficiently dry, an appropriate penetrating sealer may be applied. Bill reviews the completed work and provides instructions for curing and ongoing care.
